Year 6 - St. Oscar Romero
Welcome to Year 6!
Class Teacher - Mrs Wolff
Welcome to the Autumn Term
Our value for this term is Prophetic
A St Mary's Pupil is prophetic.
Some of our favourite Oscar Romero quotes:
'Aspire not to have more, but to be more'
'Those who have a voice must speak for those who are voiceless'
'Peace is the product of justice and love'
'God is not satisfied with appearance. God wants the garment of justice. God wants his Christians dressed in love'
'Let us not tire of preaching love; it is the force that will overcome the world'
Year 6 had the fantastic opportunity to visit Borwick Hall for the day where we got the chance to experience lots of outdoor activities. Some of our favourites were canoeing, climbing, completing an assault course and going on the zip wires. We also managed to break the record for The Plank Challenge by completing it in only 8 minutes 44 seconds!!!!
We enjoyed a virtual On line CAFOD assembly about Climate Change and what we can do to help.
This half term we are going to be reading Macbeth.
Reading for Pleasure at Home
Year 6 you have a wonderful treat this year - you have the chance to pick a book to read at home whilst enjoying a hot chocolate!!!!!! There are 10 special bags to chose from and they each contain a book, a book review and a hot chocolate sachet. Mrs Wolff wants you to sit back, relax, enjoy a good book and a comforting, delicious drink. When you have finished your book fill out the book review so we know your thoughts on it.
P.E will be on a Thursday afternoon with Coach Tom. Please come into school wearing your P.E kit -black/navy jog pants can be worn and trainers.
Dignity of the Human Person
Year 6 have been recognising and discussing what their special gifts are and how they can use them to make themselves and other people feel happier, safer and loved.
