Life in Year 6

Ancient Egypt

Year 6 have loved learning all about Ancient Egypt and have enjoyed a visit to Bolton Museum (to see a genuine mummy!), read Ma'at's Feather as our class novel, written our very own story based on tomb robbers and made some stunning canopic jars.

D&T

During D&T week, our Year 6 children designed and made a cushion and a moving fairground ride (some were definitely a white knuckle ride!).

Past Homework Project: To build a WW1 model trench

Look at how wonderful and creative our Year 6 children are!

Art

Year 6 have been studying Dadaism as part of their art lessons. The children captured the essence of Dadaism brilliantly in their finished pieces of work.

Reading for Pleasure at Home

Year 6 you have a wonderful treat this year - you have the chance to pick a book to read at home whilst enjoying a hot chocolate!!!!!! There are 10 special bags to chose from and they each contain a book, a book review and a hot chocolate sachet. Mrs Wolff wants you to sit back, relax, enjoy a good book and a comforting, delicious drink. When you have finished your book fill out the book review so we know your thoughts on it.

Buddies are back!!!

Year 6 can not wait to help the newer members of our school family settle into school life and are looking forward to all the fun times ahead! Looking after our mental health and well-being is extremely important; the children from Year 6 are loving connecting with new people and being in the company of their buddies.

P.E

P.E will be on a Thursday afternoon with Coach Tom. Please come into school wearing your P.E kit -black/navy jog pants can be worn and trainers.

Our Academic Year 2010-2021

Take a look through just some of the photographs from our last academic year. Some of the highlights include topic homework projects (we had some very creative children who made wonderful models of WW1 trenches and volcanoes), an outdoor pursuits trip, explosive science experiments, some reflective moments, special CAFOD assemblies (via Zoom), D&T projects and much, much more. What a year !

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries.
